Recently I went on a purge of my systems, clearing out a whole bunch of packages. I brought the count on my laptop down from >700 packages down to less than 650. Quite nice, if I do say so. Now I had a lot of python packages installed, some with pip, some not, but the ones installed via pip were not tracked by pacman, and were in /usr/bin/ and things were just getting messy. So I decided to finally start using virtualenv to isolate the python packages, so if I do need to get rid of them, it's as simple as removing a directory, because honestly, pip sucks at removing things. Now it just seems a whole lot cleaner.
